Postdocs
Taeho Kim is a postdoctoral researcher in Industrial and System Engineering starting June 2023. He earned his PhD degree from the Department of Mathematical Sciences, Korea Advanced Institute of Science and Technology (KAIST) in 2021. Before joining Texas A&M University, he was a postdoctoral researcher at Penn State and Georgia Tech. His research interest lies in data-driven analysis of stochastic systems, decision-making under model risk, and risk-sensitive simulation optimization.
Ph.D. Students
Jinbo Zhao is a Ph.D. student in Industrial and System Engineering and received the 2022-2023 Wm Michael Barnes ’64 Doctoral Fellowship. He obtained his bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering from Sichuan University. His research interests are in simulation and optimization. Jinbo recharges himself by cooking, writing and hiking.
Tianqi Qiao is a Ph.D. student in Industrial and Systems Engineering. His research interests lie in simulation, general optimization theory, and discrete probability theory.
Undergraduate Students
Javier Gatica is a Mathematical Engineering student from UC Chile, specializing in numerical analysis and optimization. His research interests are scientific computing and the analysis of optimization methods applied to different fields. He has research experience in control and finite element methods for partial differential equations. Javier spends his spare time playing instruments like violin and guitar.
Yuandong “McLaren” Wang is an undergraduate student in Industrial and System Engineering. His research interests include manufacturing systems and statistical learning. He spends his free time in cycling and church activities.
